About The Position

As a Transportation Coordinator, you will be involved in the timely scheduling and tendering of outbound freight in accordance with customer delivery demands, corporate sales targets, and product supply availability. In this role you will work with Nestlé Purina corporate supply chain representatives, third party carriers, Nestlé Purina distribution centers, sister production plants, and customer distribution centers to ensure our products are delivered to meet customer demand. Transportation Representatives are responsible for the selection and management of “least cost” carriers on outbound loads, and scheduling and tracking outbound/inbound loads to ensure on-time delivery. Exceed Purina’s on-time pick-up and delivery expectations, which includes proactive analysis to prevent service failures, as well as scheduling orders for the best possible product fill rate Consistent and professional communications to maintain profession carrier and customer relationships Tendering loads to carriers while ensuring automated or manual routing guide assignment/tender acceptance in the Standard Routing Guide (SRG) Appointment scheduling with shipper and/or receiver and updates the Transportation Management System (TMS)/SAP/ Warehouse Management System (WMS) as needed Notify appropriate groups of any product supply issues, and work with our Order Revenue Management team and Operations Planning group to resolve issues to maintain customer satisfaction

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of experience providing customer service and logistics support in a manufacturing, military, or transportation environment.
