About The Position

This remote role focuses on ensuring timely follow-up and delivery of loads. The position requires close coordination with corporate supply chain representatives, third-party carriers, distribution centers, sister production plants, and customer distribution centers to meet customer demand and ensure on-time delivery. The role involves scheduling and tracking outbound and inbound loads, capturing delivery information, and assisting the Transportation Manager with reporting functions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; college education preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in customer service within a manufacturing or transportation environment.
  • Proficiency in web-based systems such as SAP and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical decision-making and good judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Follow up on loads to determine on-time delivery and document appropriate reason codes if delivery fails.
  • Track daily loads in FourKites and update the system with new delivery information.
  • Exceed on-time pick-up and delivery expectations through proactive analysis and scheduling orders for optimal product fill rates.
  • Communicate consistently and professionally with carriers and customers, handling difficult situations and service failures.
  • Manage detention, benchmark rate achievement, and expedite decisions while controlling costs.
  • Contact carriers to obtain load status and monitor shipments for on-time delivery.
  • Tender loads to carriers and manage routing guide assignments.
  • Notify relevant groups of product supply issues and work to resolve them.
  • Schedule appointments with shippers/receivers and update necessary systems.
  • Consolidate customer orders into full truckloads when necessary.
  • Review and correct EDI 214 errors, manage customer returns, and process detention approvals.
  • Actively manage on-time performance and fill rates through reason code application and cleanup.
  • Request EDI setup for new carriers and lead training sessions for Carrier Contacts.
