Michael Baker International’s Construction Services practice supports clients by acting as their trusted on-site agent through all phases of construction, from pre-design to close-out. They provide qualified construction managers, inspectors, constructability reviewers, schedulers, estimators, and safety experts. The company seeks innovative ideas to maintain and deliver successful construction projects as new technologies evolve. Michael Baker is looking for an experienced Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI-2 or TCI-3) for an immediate assignment on the $20M Keim Street Bridge Replacement Project in Pottstown, PA. This role, under the direct supervision of the Project Supervisor, involves monitoring and documenting that the drainage, roadways, and structures associated with the project are being built in accordance with the plans and specifications.

Requirements

• High School Diploma (or equivalent)
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• 2+ years of experience working on a PennDOT highway project
• Working knowledge of PennDOT Systems, including ECMS and PSA, VSIR & MC-Docs Apps
• Possess basic math skills necessary to perform computations for length, area, and volume
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and procedures
• Availability to work various shifts, including night shift and overtime as required
• Ability to sometimes work in adverse weather conditions
• Must be physically able to perform moderately strenuous tasks which includes walking along rough terrain, climbing ladders and lifting up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Inspect various facets of work on the construction site
• Document project site activities in PennDOT PSA and other applicable Apps
• Take field measurements and perform calculations
• Prepare relevant inspection reports
• Verify that appropriate materials and construction processes are being used
• Ensure that construction conforms to the project plans, specifications, and special provisions
• Perform other duties as assigned
