About The Position

SUMMARY: This role is responsible for overseeing daily yard‑truck (spotter/shag) operations to ensure accurate, safe, and efficient movement of trailers across the Tyson Foods warehouse yard. This role leads and develops a team of shag operators, ensures smooth yard flow, supports cross‑functional communication, and upholds Tyson safety and operational standards. The supervisor will also provide support to other Tyson locations by coordinating parts searches, processing outside-work purchase orders, and ensuring accuracy in parts inventory and payroll. Key Responsibilities Lead, coordinate, and manage all shag/yard‑truck activities to maintain efficient trailer movement. Optimize trailer placement based on shipping, receiving, and production priorities. Enforce Tyson Foods safety requirements, OSHA regulations, and applicable DOT guidelines. Perform safety observations and provide corrective coaching to team members. Train, mentor, and evaluate shag drivers to ensure consistent performance and compliance. Maintain accurate yard maps, trailer inventories, and documentation. Log trailer movements and maintain required daily operational reports. Communicate real-time updates with warehouse operations, transportation teams, carriers, Material Handling, and Security Gates. Support other Tyson plants by locating parts, coordinating repairs, and processing PO’s for outside work. Train and effectively manage payroll processes for the team. Train and maintain oversight of parts inventory systems and related documentation.

Requirements

  • Previous shag/yard‑truck (spotter) experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience in warehouse, trailer‑spotting, or transportation operations.
  • Leadership experience (lead, trainer, or supervisory role).
  • Strong understanding of yard safety and warehouse material flow.
  • Must be able to obtain a CDL within 1 year of hire.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working at Tyson Foods or in a food‑processing environment.
  • CDL Class A (preferred or currently in progress).
  • Experience using Yard Management Systems (YMS).
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
