We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Transportation Analyst in Morton, IL. Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. Job Summary : The International Transportation team is responsible for the movement of shipments internationally for parts and components moving to and from Caterpillar’s global facilities. These flows are from aftermarket parts distribution centers (DCs) to other DCs or dealers, and for components from suppliers to manufacturing facilities or DCs. The international transportation team is looking for a North America Transportation Analyst who can oversee both flows in a cross-functional position. Additional Info : This role is located in Morton, IL and does not offer relocation This role is 1st shift This role is 100% on-site with no opportunity for hybrid or remote schedules This position requires up to 10% domestic travel

Requirements

  • Data Gathering & Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.
  • Planning and Organizing : Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
  • Transportation - MFG: Knowledge of transportation; ability to transport materials and goods to and from suppliers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities and customers.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years experience in Transportation, Logistics, or similar field
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated strategic thinker able to plan and optimize most effective methods for movement of freight
  • Previously lead projects and high impact initiatives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: Advanced Excel skills (Vlookup, pivot tables) and knowledge or aptitude to learn Microsoft Access
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Proven customer focus and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficient with Transportation software, such as InforNexus, BlueYonder, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day execution for North America export shipments within the Global Materials Management Program (GMM).
  • The GMM Program is a program within the international transportation team that manages the transportation flow from suppliers to manufacturing facilities or DCs utilizing the InforNexus transportation system.
  • The Program provides part level tracking visibility to receiving facilities.
  • Will serve as the North America superuser for Project Connect, responsible for supplier training/onboarding and successful rollout of new BYTM system in 2026.
  • Will require focused effort with other regions in managing the transition to BYTM.
  • Oversight for the 3rd party service provider operating the GMM North America Control Tower.
  • Deploys and governs the performance of the GMM Control Tower through Key Performance Indicators to meet cost and service performance expectations
  • Coordinate problem resolution with Caterpillar facilities and approved Service Providers with regards to transportation services.
  • Implements solutions to reduce performance gaps within the transportation network
  • Deploy process improvement initiatives and improved transportation methods to support Caterpillar’s quality, velocity and cost objectives
  • Provides analytical insights and reporting to leadership and internal customers to generate fact driven solutions and performance metric reporting
