Overview: Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of proprietary company crude oil product hauling fleet. Supervises a team of drivers and directs the day-to-day activities of the Transport Operations as it relates to truck resource planning, scheduling, loading and delivering of bulk petroleum products to customers. Additionally, this role ensures Preventative Maintenance schedules are adhered to and coordinates equipment transfers to partner terminals or to third party mechanics for maintenance. Ensures regulatory compliance and is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. During the training process, emphasis will be placed on developing a working knowledge of transport operations, inter-departmental business activities, and leadership skills. This position will require travel which could include extended periods of time away from home location. average travel per month between 15-25%, however travel can be up to 50% in a given month based on backfill assignments or business needs. This position will be based at the Salt Lake City, Utah office, reporting to the Area Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum: High School or GED Equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Computer Proficiencies: Microsoft Office
  • Three (3) year of trucking, terminaling, logistics and/or oil and gas experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and coordinates the activities of transport personnel engaged in the loading, transport and offloading of various petroleum and specialty products; compiles and maintains necessary records and reports
  • Manages the day-to-day activities of company drivers and transports to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of products including light products, ethanol and sulfur
  • Facilitates the delivery of products in support of the company’s marketing function in a safe and secure manner
  • Interacts with transport scheduling to coordinate the dispatch of company transport drivers and/or common carriers to marketing outlets, consumer accounts and bulk plants to effect maximum efficiency and savings on deliveries; assists in the shift of transport resources when necessary
  • Keeps informed on government rules and regulations pertaining to transport of hazardous materials and regulations involving safety and environmental requirements
  • Initiates initial response to emergencies, such as motor vehicle accidents, involving corporate transport personnel and resources
  • Manages 24x7 operations often requiring flexible work schedule, on-call responsibilities and emergency responses
  • Develops strong working relationships across Operations, Scheduling, Maintenance, and Terminals to identify efficiency opportunities and support business growth initiatives.
  • Leverages data and technical systems to enhance safety, productivity, and fleet optimization.
