About The Position

The Transport Driver plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of flammable materials in bulk liquid form, to deliver equipment or other materials. This position involves operating large tractor-trailer vehicles to transport freight, often over long distances, while adhering to all federal and state transportation regulations. The driver is responsible for maintaining the vehicle in optimal condition, performing routine inspections, and managing necessary documentation related to cargo and delivery. Effective communication with dispatchers, clients, and other stakeholders is essential to coordinate schedules and address any issues that arise during transit. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the supply chain by ensuring that products reach their destinations efficiently and securely.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with Haz Mat and Combination Vehicle Endorsements (including Tanker, Air Brake, and Semi-Tractor Trailer over 26,000 lbs.
  • Clean driving record with no recent violations or accidents.
  • Must Have Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana LP Gas Employee Certificates or Licenses or qualify in the first 30 days for a least Texas and Oklahoma.
  • Ability to pass DOT physical examination and alcohol/drug screening.
  • Must pass a road skills driving test

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and GPS navigation systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude for basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Customer service experience in a logistics or transportation environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate tractor-trailer trucks to transport goods safely and efficiently across assigned routes.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring proper securing of freight to prevent damage during transit.
  • Maintain accurate records of driving hours, vehicle inspections, cargo details, and delivery confirmations.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to provide updates on delivery status and resolve any logistical issues.
  • Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies regarding safety and operational procedures.
  • Manage unexpected situations such as traffic delays, weather conditions, or mechanical issues with professionalism and problem-solving skills.
