Acts as liaison in the EMS community by coordinating and supervising all EMS related educational programs for pre-hospital providers. Actively involved in the delivery of professional EMS outreach, pre-hospital run report quality assurance, protocol and policy development, and trauma development. Manages all fleet vehicles, maintenance, accidents and investigations. Works with quality/population health on community outreach. Responsible for building relationships with community influencers and "gatekeepers" to venues where WVU medicine can prospect and be a part of the solution to change at risk behaviors in the population.

Requirements

  • Associate degree OR Completion of ONE of the following programs: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Program Paramedic Program Registered Nurse Program
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Three (3) years of emergency medical services experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree in emergency medical technology, nursing, business or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the provision of optimal transportation services to patients being transferred to or from assigned hospitals.
  • Establishes verbal communication links and relays verbal communications to all appropriate patient care representatives.
  • Maintains all forms and documentation applicable for the position.
  • Accurately enters data and properly maintains the database utilized for the position.
  • Assists in the management of base operations.
  • Vehicle acquisition: Negotiating pricing and demands with manufacturers. Consideration of the vehicle’s job and the load it must carry are required in forecasting and planning fleet purchases.
  • Designing and managing maintenance programs: Set preventive maintenance policies based on vehicle type, vocation and geography as it impacts driver safety, saves repair costs, and optimizes resale value.
  • Leading safety programs: When an incident occurs, potential negligence and brand damage come with staggering costs to organizations. The incumbent will work to minimize these risks.
