About The Position

Animal lovers with big hearts who want to help shelter pets find safety, care, and their next chance at a loving home. What You'll Do Join the Animal Care & Control team and play a hands-on role in helping animals move from the shelter into foster homes, rescue organizations, and adoption opportunities. This role supports the foster and transport programs that give animals a second chance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• At least one year of experience working with animals preferred
• Compassion for animal welfare and the ability to safely handle animals of different sizes and temperaments
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Nice To Haves

• Valid Driver's License (required to drive City vehicles)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate foster placements and support volunteers caring for animals in foster homes
• Provide basic medical care such as vaccines, medications, and monitoring animal health
• Transport animals safely to rescue partners and offsite adoption locations
• Track medical care, behavior notes, and foster activity in the Chameleon system
• Assist with general animal care, shelter support, and helping the public with adoption questions when needed
