The Transport Aide will greet imaging patients, and safely escort them to proper modality. Employees should be self-motivated and demonstrate the ability to multitask in a high-volume environment. Providing excellent customer service and the ability to communicate well and professionally with patients, visitors and staff is required. Additional duties include taking soiled equipment to sterile processing, exchanging oxygen tanks, collecting soiled linen, getting supplies as requested, assisting technologist with patients, answering phones and properly transferring calls, ensuring the changing rooms are neat, and file room duties such as burning DVD's and obtaining proper consent for release of information.

Requirements

  • Education - High school diploma or GED
  • Experience - Preference computer skills
  • Must be able to push, pull, bend, safely transfer patients and ambulate without assistance.

  • Problem solving ability and attention to detail is preferred
  • Good written and oral communication skills preferred.
  • Requires ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely and adjust to changes in work volumes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe clean environment according to Joint Commission standards
  • Stocks and clean changing rooms as assigned ensuring all are completed prior to leaving for the day.
  • Demonstrates teamwork to provide the best possible customer service care for our patients and visitors.
  • Follows HIPAA regulations and adheres to CHS policy for patient identification
  • Demonstrates appropriate computer skills, understanding of PACS, Meditech, Emails, Shiftwizard, DVD burning and Release of Information consent.
  • Completes annual competency demonstrating knowledge of all requirements
