About The Position

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Participates in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the left ventricular assist device (LVAD) program and the heart transplant program; to coordinate and manage the patient care of this high-risk patient population throughout the continuum.

Requirements

  • Graduate from a Registered Nurse Program.
  • Two (2) years of professional clinical experience required.
  • Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • Leadership qualities including time management, verbal and good written communication skills, listening skills, decision making, priority setting and work organization skills.
  • Must be self-directed and use independent judgment.
  • Effective communication skills and team building skills required.
  • Demonstrate compassionate patient communication.

Nice To Haves

  • Cardiovascular focus experience preferred.
  • One (1) year experience caring for LVAD patients and heart transplant patients preferred.
