About The Position

The Transplant Financial Svcs Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the processes that ensure the financial viability of all transplant cases as patients flow through the continuum of care. This role will coordinate the work of the Transplant Financial Liaisons (TFL) and Transplant Insurance Verifiers (TIV). Provides financial information and assistance to our patients, throughout the continuum of their care, as educators, advocates, and liaisons to our health care system and payors in order to ensure the best financial outcomes for patients and the institution. This position will collaborate, coordinate as well as validate information with Finance, Patient Financial Services, Admitting-Insurance Verification, Contracting and other regulatory determinants that may affect the financial viability and business growth of the Transplant Center and ensure the best financial outcomes for the institution and its patients. The coordinator functions in the TFL role 50% of the time. Also they'll be responsible for processing invoices and tracking payments.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years experience as a Transplant Financial Liaison or similar role within a solid organ transplant program is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, or Health Administration is required.
  • In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree may accept a combination of education and/or experience in related fields is required.
  • Exemplary customer service and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of health insurance terminology, billing, managed care contracting, Medicare and Medicaid entitlements, and hospital reimbursement principals.
  • The ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Thorough attention to detail. Ability to coordinate project tasks and work effectively with Hospital and other Hospital/College stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of various programs, including EXCEL, Word, PowerPoint, Kronos, and UNET.
  • Proficient in office automation, including word processing, spreadsheets, and electronic mail.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory/lead experience is preferred.
  • Leadership training is preferred.
