  • 2+ years of relevant experience in power systems, transmission planning, interconnection, market analytics, or technical project/program management in the power sector (utility, ISO/RTO, IPP, or consulting).
  • Solid understanding of the electric transmission system, including concepts such as thermal limits, voltage performance, contingency analysis, transfer capability, and congestion.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Excel and other data tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Power BI, or similar) to organize, analyze, and visualize data.
  • Proven experience managing complex technical projects or study workstreams, including scoping, timeline management, coordination of contributors, and clear communication of status, risks, and decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead transmission and interconnection analysis for utility-scale solar and storage projects across target ISO/RTOs (e.g., MISO, PJM, NYISO, ERCOT, etc.), including assessment of headroom, constraints, congestion, and curtailment risk.
  • Plan and execute analytical workstreams (including 3rdparty studies) for each project including defining scope and assumptions, coordinating timelines with interconnection and development milestones, and tracking study status, risks, and decisions.
  • Perform and/or direct power system analyses (e.g., load flow, contingency, transfer capability, hosting capacity) and market analytics, translating results into clear commercial metrics and recommendations (e.g., POI choice, queue vintage, hybrid vs. solar only, storage sizing).
  • Manage and coordinate external consultants performing technical and economic evaluations (e.g., PSS/E, TARA/PSLF studies, congestion/capacity market analytics), ensuring high quality deliverables, alignment with Nexamp’s objectives, and effective handoff to internal stakeholders.
  • Synthesize complex analysis into decision ready materials (slides, memos, dashboards) that clearly articulate options, risks, and tradeoffs for Business Development, Finance, and senior leadership.
