About The Position

Our client is a leading energy resources company specializing in renewable energy infrastructure development. We are seeking an experienced Transmission Line Principal Engineer to join their Engineering & Construction team. This is a pivotal role managing the complete lifecycle of transmission line projects for wind, solar, and battery energy storage installations.

Requirements

7+ years of professional engineering experience
Proven expertise in transmission line design and project management
Strong knowledge of FERC regulations and competitive transmission processes
Experience managing engineering consultant relationships and performance
Excellent project management and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
Experience with renewable energy projects (wind, solar, storage) strongly preferred
Familiarity with power systems and electrical grid infrastructure

Responsibilities

Direct and manage transmission line design projects from early-stage conception through construction and commissioning
Oversee engineering consultants and design teams through the entire project lifecycle
Collaborate with Early Stage Project Managers to define project requirements and scope
Develop detailed scopes of work for transmission line design projects
Manage vendor selection, bid evaluation, and contract award processes through the integrated procurement system
Work with the Development Group on FERC 1000 competitive proposals and greenfield projects
Serve as primary technical point of contact for transmission line design oversight
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and project specifications
Coordinate with stakeholders across substation design, power systems analysis, and protection/control teams
