The Senior Transmission Line Engineering Manager at Ampirical is responsible for overseeing the design of electric transmission, sub-transmission, and distribution lines. This role involves regular interaction with clients, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring high-quality engineering deliverables.   • Design conceptual routes, layouts, preliminary and detailed designs and specifications for high voltage transmission lines and/or distribution lines.
  • Plan and profile sheets, staking sheets, bills of materials (BOM), and stringing charts.
  • Create design criteria, pole loading drawings, framing drawings, and construction drawings.
  • Develop terrain models and structure loading calculations.
  • Provide construction support and review project engineering deliverables for Quality Assurance (QA).
  • Attend project site visits/walk downs and interface regularly with clients at their offices or in the field.
  • Support client's project engineers as directed and independently plan work to meet assigned objectives.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university, preferably in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
  • Civil or Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) License or ability to obtain within 1 year.
  • 10+ years of transmission and/or distribution line design experience.
  • Proficient in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, MFAD, and MS Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage tasks for multiple projects under budget and time constraints.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with proficiency in computer applications.
  • High level of personal initiative and ability to interact with personnel, clients, and contractors.
  • Experience with PLS-TOWER.
  • Familiarity with CPUC GO-95 & 131-D.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards and experience as the technical lead on projects.
  • Master's in Structural Engineering.
