About The Position

Transload Operator / Rail Yard Laborer Montgomery, AL Pay: $17.00 per hour Schedule: Monday–Friday Day Shift with occasional weekends Location: Montgomery, Alabama Road & Rail Services is hiring a Transload Operator for our Montgomery rail terminal. This position supports railcar loading and unloading operations by transferring liquid products between rail tank cars and tanker trucks. Since 1987, Road & Rail Services has provided rail, transload, and logistics services across North America. Our teams support major railroads and manufacturers by safely handling freight and keeping supply chains moving. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Comfortable climbing ladders and railcars

Nice To Haves

• Industrial labor, construction, warehouse, or mechanical experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading liquid products between rail tank cars and tanker trucks
• Connecting and operating pumps, hoses, and valves used in transfers
• Climbing railcars and working from platforms to access equipment
• Monitoring transfers to ensure safe and accurate product movement
• Inspecting hoses, valves, and railcars for leaks or mechanical issues
• Completing required transfer logs and safety documentation
• Communicating with truck drivers and supervisors to coordinate operations
