About The Position

Provides transition-/vocational-based instruction and data documentation for students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Provide services/resources for parents, students and staff in the areas of vocational evaluation and transition planning. Works collaboratively in order to achieve goals. Actively involved in curriculum implementation, data reporting, physical classroom structuring as well as maintaining individual daily program books, which will record outcome-based documentation.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of: evidence-based instruction to special needs students with autism.
  • Skill in: oral and written communication.
  • Ability to:work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels and to interact appropriately with special needs children.
  • At least a bachelor's degree in special education, early childhood education, psychology, or related field; and experience with the development and implementation of transition curricula and supporting individuals with on-site vocational training.

  • A master's degree in special education, early childhood education, psychology, or related field.
  • Completion of Rich Center for Autism training programs and strong understanding in the organization's procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provides evidence-based instruction, including summer programming, to students with autism.
  • Collects, interprets, and reports outcome-based data.
  • Participates in evaluations and assessments of children with autism enrolled in the programs.
  • Executes established transition curriculum standards.
  • Responsible for classroom instruction and organization, including lesson planning and preparing materials for vocational-based instruction, including job skill development.
  • Coordinates and oversees establishment and maintenance of vocational work sites.
  • Completes vocational skills assessments/transition-based assessments for Individualized Education Program (IEP) development. Writes transition goals for IEP and reports progress, as necessary.
  • Participates in workshops, professional conferences, and research opportunities.
  • Assists in parent program activities, including but not limited to the provision of program updates.
  • Assists with public relations events sponsored by The Rich Center for Autism.
  • Attends staff meetings and assists Classroom Supervisors with presentation of updates and relevant information regarding the center's transition programming.
  • Assists classroom supervisor with coordination between students/families and Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
