About The Position

Our Lamar Transit office in Phoenix, Arizona is looking for a new Transit General Manager to help bring innovative advertising campaigns to life in Phoenix, AZ and the surrounding areas. The position purpose will be to Make monthly, quarterly, and annual budget for market(s). This person is responsible for effectiveness and efficiency of all personnel in the plant. Maintain a positive relationship with the transit district(s) and oversee and grow major client accounts. Review and approve sales contracts as well as payables. Responsible for reviewing, approving, and monitoring financial documents, i.e. BSO, A/P Distribution, etc. (approve GM Checklist).   • Must possess good computer, excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • General knowledge of federal and state affirmative action and equal opportunity laws and regulations.

  • Skill in speaking with persons of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
  • Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the importance of job responsibilities.

  • Skill in mediating between parties and groups.
  • Skill in managing including organizing objectives, delegating responsibility, training, evaluating subordinate effectiveness, and administering necessary discipline.
  • Ability to manage the company’s bank account and check book.
  • Ability to work with confidential information.
  • Detailed knowledge of Lamar, OSHA, DOT, federal and state safety regulations.
  • Working knowledge of all departments within the company, including operations
  • Ability to explain the outdoor advertising business to customers and account executives from installation and product standpoints.
  • Skill in projecting and monitoring budgets.
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • 5-6 years at Lamar preferred, preferably at position with some management component
