About The Position

As one of CDOT's Transit and Mobility Grants Project Managers, classified as Project Manager I, you will manage, monitor, and implement transit projects that are a direct result of the division's planning process. This includes ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements, offering technical assistance, processing requests for payment, providing project level guidance, and reporting out on project progress.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of full-time professional work experience in public administration, business administration, engineering, environmental science, urban planning, finance, accounting, political science, communication, or other work related to the major duties of this position which included 3 years of experience with a primary focus on any of the following:
  • Grants administration (federal or state grants preferred)
  • Project management (developing scope, schedule, budget and evaluating/monitoring performance)
  • Transportation or transit planning
  • A combination of relevant education and experience equal to at least 7 years.
  • Education from an accredited college or university with coursework in public administration, business administration, engineering, environmental science, urban planning, finance, accounting, political science, communication, or another field of study related to the duties of this position will be considered.
  • Full-time professional work experience with a primary focus on any of the following will be considered:
  • Grants administration (federal or state grants preferred)
  • Project management (developing scope, schedule, budget and evaluating/monitoring performance)
  • Transportation or transit planning

  • Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Gmail and Google Applications, SAP, COTRAMS, TrAMS, and SalesForce environments/platforms, and the ability to quickly learn other software systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight, administration, and technical support for all grant recipients on projects that have been issued a notice-to-proceed including, but not limited to administration, operating, mobility management, planning, rolling stock and capital equipment, capital construction, service planning, expansion and other innovative mobility opportunities.
  • Manage and direct adherence and compliance with all FTA and other state and federal regulations for assigned projects and agencies. This includes preparing and maintaining project documentation, monitoring, and reporting project spending and status, tracking accomplishments versus operational requirements, resolving issues and change initiatives, conducting risk analysis, contract oversight, and ensuring that all deliverables are on time and on budget.
  • Provide specialized expertise in deploying FTA and state transit programs and initiatives and oversee projects throughout the entire project lifecycle using established best practices, strategy, creativity, logic and established methodology.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to transit agencies and other grant recipients, including prompt communication, technical assistance, regulatory guidance, and liaising between agencies and CDOT or external staff
  • Other job duties as assigned.
