About The Position

The Transfer Station Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment at a transfer station for the purpose of transferring, spreading, covering, loading and compacting waste.

Requirements

  • Equipment operator must have a clear understanding of the proper procedures for running the equipment and all aspects of the transfer station.
  • Knowledge of the flow of work and ability to anticipate tasks that need to occur.
  • Ability to follow directions and work as a team or independently
  • Physically able to push or pull independently (unassisted) 50 pounds between
  • Physically able to lift independently (unassisted) 50 pounds
  • Required to use motor coordination and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • One year prior related experience in heavy equipment operation preferred.
  • One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment both inside and outside the facility
  • Daily plant responsibility to include proper use of lighting, dust control and ventilation systems
  • Ensure that commodities are loaded, transported and stored in an efficient and timely manner
  • Observe and report any potential malfunctions or disruptions of plant activities
  • Observe and report sub-standard service level of contracted manpower and equipment
  • Must maintain current applicable licenses with regard to operating equipment
  • Maintain and operate designated equipment used in the Transfer Station
  • Follow all required safety policies and procedures
  • Attend and participate in corporation sponsored training courses as assigned.
  • Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Waste Pro USA.
  • Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.
