About The Position

The Transfer Station Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment at a transfer station for the purpose of transferring, spreading, covering, loading and compacting waste.

Requirements

Equipment operator must have a clear understanding of the proper procedures for running the equipment and all aspects of the transfer station.
Knowledge of the flow of work and ability to anticipate tasks that need to occur.
Ability to follow directions and work as a team or independently
Physically able to push or pull independently (unassisted) 50 pounds between
Physically able to lift independently (unassisted) 50 pounds
Required to use motor coordination and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

High School diploma or GED preferred
One year prior related experience in heavy equipment operation preferred.
One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

Maintain a clean and organized work environment both inside and outside the facility
Daily plant responsibility to include proper use of lighting, dust control and ventilation systems
Ensure that commodities are loaded, transported and stored in an efficient and timely manner
Observe and report any potential malfunctions or disruptions of plant activities
Observe and report sub-standard service level of contracted manpower and equipment
Must maintain current applicable licenses with regard to operating equipment
Maintain and operate designated equipment used in the Transfer Station
Follow all required safety policies and procedures
Attend and participate in corporation sponsored training courses as assigned.
Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Waste Pro USA.
Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.
