Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience
  • DailyTravel Required
  • Prior hands -on experience with material transfer vehicles (e.g., Shuttle Buggy) in asphalt paving operations.
  • Knowledge of Asphalt Mix Handling
  • Understanding of how to maintain proper temperature, prevent segregation, and ensure consistent material flow.
  • Strong Coordination and Communication Skills
  • Ability to work closely with truck drivers, paver operators, and ground crew to keep operations smooth and efficient.
  • Mechanical Awareness: Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and ensure reliability.
  • Proven track record of following safety procedures and maintaining awareness of surroundings, especially in active job sites.
  • Reliable attendance, willingness to work in varying weather conditions, and commitment to project timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate the Asphalt Transfer Machine.
  • Control the material transfer vehicle to ensure a continuous supply of asphalt from trucks to the paver without interrupting paving operations.
  • Guarantee consistent asphalt delivery to prevent segregation, maintain mat quality, and avoid cold joints.
  • Monitor asphalt mix temperature and quality during transfer to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Coordinate with dump truck drivers and paver operators to synchronize timing and material supply.
  • Inspect the transfer machine before and after shifts; clean, lubricate, and report any mechanical issues.
  • Follow traffic control plans, wear personal protective equipment (PPE), and operate equipment with an awareness of ground crew and surrounding hazards.
