The Transfer Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all processes, support, communication, and documentation involved in transferring patients between facilities, as well as supporting physician consults. This role requires recognizing and upholding all regulatory requirements, updating key stakeholders on timelines, accurately entering data into the EPIC database, and coordinating with Flight for Life for patient transports.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED, required
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) successfully completed within 18 months of employment
  • Certification must be maintained while employed
  • One to two years of direct clinical experience in Emergency Department/Critical Care Unit (such as Critical Care Tech EMT-B etc.), or one to two years of full time direct administrative healthcare experience (such as Nursing Unit Secretary or Patient Access Representative) or one to two years Transfer Center experience
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Customer service
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred

Responsibilities
