About The Position

The Clinic Transcriptionist is responsible for the reviewing and editing of transcribed documents for accuracy, clarity, and compliance with formatting and documentation standards. This position plays a vital role in facilitating effective communication within the healthcare sector.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of medical terminology and/or physiology and medical transcription guidelines.
Minimum one-year experience of medical transcription.
Ability to type 80 wpm accurately.
Proficiency in grammar, punctuation and spelling with strong editing skills and attention to detail
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical and professional standards in medical transcription editing.

Nice To Haves

Technical Diploma: healthcare administration or other related field preferred.
Associate degree: healthcare administration, medical transcription or other related field preferred.
Registered Health Information Administrator or equivalent certification- preferred.
Registered Health Information Technician or equivalent certification- preferred
Prior working knowledge of a digital dictation and/or computerized word processing system given special consideration.
Excellent knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology, with the ability to accurately edit diverse medical specialties and procedures a plus.
Familiarity with transcription software and electronic document management systems desireable.
