About The Position

LabCorp is seeking a per Diem Medical Transcriptionist to join our team in Syracuse, NY. This role works in a high volume, production-based environment performing a vital component of anatomic pathology lab science. Schedule: Per diem; (Monday-Friday, 1-2 hours per day) Pay Range: $17.75 to $23.43 per hour All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. Requirements

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
Excellent data entry and typing skills
Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
High level of attention to details
Proficient in Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

Previous Pathology transcription experienced a plus
Experience with transcriptionist software is preferred

Responsibilities

Transcribe gross and microscopic descriptions on surgical pathology cases comprised of moderately difficult medical terminology.
Accurate and timely data entry of dictated and/or handwritten pathology cases into the laboratory information system
Provides complete and accurate resolution to all user inquiries or redirects inquirer to appropriate resource(s) in a timely manner
Identifies problems, determines and provides/implements appropriate corrective action/accurate solutions
Researches, troubleshoots and follows-up to ensure all inquiries/problems are resolved in a timely manner
