About The Position

The Service Oklahoma (SOK) mission is to ease the stress in navigating government services by providing a best-in-class customer experience. We are Oklahomans helping Oklahomans by providing driver license and motor vehicle services on behalf of the state. This position has an annual rate of $47,379.07. Service Oklahoma offers a generous benefits package, including a benefits allowance to off-set the costs of medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance plans. Service Oklahoma will match up to 7% towards an employee’s Defined Contribution retirement plan. Our employees receive 11 paid holidays, 15 days of paid annual leave, which increases with every 5 years of service, and 15 days of paid sick leave. Additionally, employees will receive longevity payments based on their years of service with the State of Oklahoma. POSITION SUMMARY The Transactional Auditor plays a crucial role by conducting a wide-range of audits, including audits of licensed operators to determine statutory and procedural compliance.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
  • Knowledge and understanding of modern office methods and procedures, including computer technology related to accounting systems.
  • Ability to work with sensitive materials and maintain confidentiality with appropriate discretion.
  • Work effectively in a team environment, participating and assisting their peers.
  • Ability to be an active participant in the development and evaluation of program objectives and procedures.
  • Ability to review and analyze accounting records and business practices
  • Ability to be an active participant in various types of audits and complete required reports and comprehend and carry out complex accounting, auditing and fiscal procedures.
  • Ability to perform a wide range of audit functions and perform highly independent work.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration, or related field; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration, or related field; PLUS one (1) year of bookkeeping, auditing, accounting, or similar field; OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration, or related field; PLUS two (2) years of bookkeeping, auditing, accounting, or similar field; OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • The schedule for this position may vary and require flexibility, including some early or late shifts, weekends, and occasional overtime, based on the needs of the agency.
  • This position may require occasional travel.
  • The selected candidate must be willing and able to perform all job-related travel.
  • State vehicles may be available, but reliable transportation may be required for local travel.
  • This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and verifies reports submitted by licensed operators and make necessary documentary and/or monetary adjustments.
  • Investigates relevant legal and policy issues.
  • Prepares audit reports documenting conclusions of audits and provides recommendations.
  • Resolves audits and brings licensed operators into compliance.
  • Identifies persistent error trends and reports those trends immediately to management.
  • Participates on a phone bank and answers phone calls and emails on a daily basis.
  • Assist in training new licensed operators as needed.
  • Assist with training new employees.
  • Review other employees completed audits for accuracy, completeness and compliance with statutory law, rules and procedures and communicate to supervisor.
  • Review and update division policy and procedures to reflect needs of Service Oklahoma.
  • Other duties as assigned.
