Irving group of companies Relocation costs (if applicable) Responsibilities Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Training Specialist will support the site’s initiative to develop and maintain training and development programs that align with the Irving Values and the Leadership direction at the Macon Tissue Site. This role is instrumental in building and maintaining the depth of knowledge at the site. The Training Specialist will work closely with department leadership to help promote a positive employee experience through the development and execution of departmental and site training plans. The Training Specialist will remain in contact with Corporate Training Leaders/Directors to ensure the Macon site is always aligned with other businesses within JDI.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong training-focused or industrial skills–development component.
  • Must understand adult learning techniques and have a demonstrated history in previous work history

Nice To Haves

  • An understanding of the Manufacturing process is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Be an integral part in the development and maintenance of a comprehensive training plan for the site.
  • Maintain and own the Macon Irving’s Learning Management System (LMS) [Convergence, MyHR Learning, Percipo Skillsoft). Including but not limited to uploading and updating content, reporting and tracking.
  • Manage Universal Site Training Schedule (Safety, Maintenance, Paper Mill, Converting, Logistics)
  • Organize Leadership Training for Front Line Leaders (Scheduling, program coordination, tracking and documentation)
  • Ensure proper onboarding for new employees to the site and employees that transfer departments.
  • Coordinate trainings with Department Specific Trainers and Continuous improvement Department
  • Work as a liaison between the floor and leadership to understand and act upon training needs of the site and departments
  • Be and advocate for change management during training plans and events.
  • Be an advocate for the business and live by the Values.
  • Other duties within the department as required.
