As a Training Specialist on the Portland Glass team, a typical day for you will include: Deliver engaging, hands-on training for new hires as well as existing employees, including safety training, operational processes, job-specific tasks, and customer service expectations. Conduct on-site shop visits to provide coaching, evaluate learning application, reinforce best practices, and support continuous skill development. Facilitate classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training using standardized materials, demonstrations, and real-world practice scenarios. Partner closely with Shop Managers and District Business Coaches to identify skill gaps, training needs, and opportunities for performance improvement. Support employee development during new program rollouts, mobile service expansions, or the launch of new products or services. Assist in updating training materials, SOPs, and guides as needed to ensure accuracy and alignment with Portland Glass standards.

Requirements

  • Strong coaching and communication skills with the ability to deliver training clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to motivate employees and create a positive, engaging working environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, observation, and feedback skills.
  • Comfortable working independently in the field with frequent travel to shop locations.
  • Physical requirements: Must be able to lift minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Experience: Prior experience in training, mentoring, or coaching in a customer-facing or technical service environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in flat glass and/or automotive glass highly beneficial.
