We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Training Specialist in Peoria, IL. Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. Job Summary: As a Training Specialist you are responsible to design, develop, and evaluate training programs, courses, and assessments to meet the needs of dealer service personnel of Caterpillar products and solutions. Additional Info: This role is located in Peoria, IL and does not offer relocation This role is 1st shift This role is 100% on-site with no opportunity for hybrid or remote schedules This role requires up to 5% domestic travel

Requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor degree in Instructional Design OR 3-5 years of instructional design experience
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating the creation of high quality learning solutions across formats
  • Wide variety of industry tools, special attention to dominKnow and Questionmark
  • Knowledge of learning theories and ID models (ADDIE and Kirkpatrick Models)
  • Work with subject matter experts to identify target audience training needs
  • Create engaging learning activities. (courses, assessments, curriculum)
  • Create and measure learning outcomes.
  • Familiarity with eLearning platform and practices
  • Familiarity of Learning Management Systems
  • Effective project management
  • Superior communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies training needs, designs, develops, evaluates, and prepares the training plan, and provides guidance regarding course content, methods, and media to be used, training aids, skill levels, and attendance
  • Provides counsel and guidance regarding program design and development for Dealer training programs
  • Participates in the overall planning, designing, and developing of job role competencies, curriculums, courses, and assessments for a specific subject area
  • Assists in periodically analyzing learning plans and matrices and makes recommendations to fill any gaps discovered
  • Participates in curriculum innovation, design, and research and ensures the development and maintenance of the highest quality learning programs for dealers and marketing personnel.
  • Provides instructional design input for use of new learning outputs and technology
  • Reviews internally produced content and resources to ensure adherence to development standards and industry best practices.
  • Reviews externally produced content and work with vendors to produce content
  • This position keeps abreast of training trends and available resources to make recommendations on "best value" programs
