The Training Program Manager leads the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of the RARC Training Program, ensuring all research and animal care personnel receive high‑quality, relevant, and individualized training. This role combines program oversight, curriculum development, and team leadership to support the UW–Madison research community. The RARC Training Manager oversees daily program operations and ensures the training group has what they need to conduct specific, high-quality training courses for students and staff. They represent the Training Program at IACUC, ACAPAC, and other institutional meetings, preparing and presenting training data for reviews. The role includes leading, supporting, and evaluating training staff by providing clear communication, constructive feedback, and staffing coverage as needed, as well as exercising full supervisory authority for at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees, including hiring, transferring, promoting, managing performance and conduct, and approving hours worked. This position collaborates with RARC leadership and campus partners to align training goals, advocate for resources, and support strategic planning while overseeing program resources, equipment, electronic infrastructure, and animal inventory related to training activities. Additionally, the Training Manager serves as the subject matter expert and liaison for internal and external stakeholders, representing the operational and strategic interests of the unit, and continuously monitors program effectiveness to drive innovation and improvement.
