About The Position

The Training Instructor position is an FTE position on the Federal Protective Service contract in Philadelphia, Pa. The local office is in Bensalem, PA.    Requires a background with a minimum of two years of successful experience in training (civilian community law enforcement, military service law enforcement, or commercial/industrial security force service). Serve as the focal point for multiple contract training compliance requirements and be responsible for overall training quality and standards IAW the SOW. Develop, conduct, and manage academic and practical lessons and training (to include firearms instruction) IAW the SOW. Train, schedule, and manage the training staff conducting the training as required. Work is based in a busy training environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Normal work hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 to 5:00, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. Travel will be required. Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 20 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday and standing in a range environment for up to 8 hours.

Requirements

  • Requires a background with a minimum of two years of successful experience in training (civilian community law enforcement, military service law enforcement, or commercial/industrial security force service).
  • The Training Instructor must possess appropriate certifications to perform First Aid, CPR, AED, Police Baton, Oleoresin Capsicum (OC), and firearms instruction.
  • Training Instructors for First Aid, CPR, and AED.
  • Firearms Instructor certifications must be NRA, U S Military, or state or federal law enforcement.
  • Ability to plan training objective, schedule personnel while ensuring contract staffing and operational continuity, maintain training files in compliance with FPS requirements and manage resources within budget.
  • Ability to manage a team of instructors and coordinate multiple training venues occurring simultaneously.
  • Must have an Instructor certification from ARC or AHA.
