In this position, you will drive team excellence through personalized 1-on-1 coaching, utilizing techniques such as role-playing, call monitoring, and shadowing. You’ll be responsible for identifying real-time skill gaps, developing custom training materials, and leading the rollout of new software and process changes. Beyond initial onboarding, you will serve as a continuous mentor—proactively analyzing performance data to schedule targeted training and ensure every team member achieves full independence and high-quality results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Education, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mortgage lending, with direct experience in sales or origination.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate training, coaching, or instructional design, preferably within the financial services or mortgage industry.
  • Deep understanding of the mortgage industry, including loan products (Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA), regulatory compliance (e.g., TRID, RESPA), and the loan origination process.
  • Exceptional listening and analytical skills, with a proven ability to identify skill deficiencies from call recordings and performance data.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex topics clearly and engagingly to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in creating professional training materials and using learning management systems (LMS) or training software.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring abilities, with patience and a results-oriented approach to individual development.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Structured Onboarding: Design and deliver structured training programs for new company hires to ensure rapid integration and proficiency in company products, systems, compliance, and sales methodology.
  • Provide consistent, actionable feedback to new hires to ensure they meet individual performance expectations within their first month.
  • Identify skill gaps through active monitoring and pivot training strategies to address individual needs and promote high-quality performance.
  • Long-term Support: Serve as a continuous point of contact after formal training to provide ongoing mentorship and ensure long-term success for all team members.
  • Develop and Update Resources: Create, maintain, and update comprehensive training guides, job aids, presentations, and resources covering all stages of the mortgage sales cycle.
  • New Program Rollouts: Create and deliver training material for new programs, software, and process changes within the organization.
  • Workshops and Seminars: Facilitate group training sessions, workshops, and continuing education seminars on new products, regulatory changes, and advanced sales techniques.
  • Data and File Review: Conduct post-training check-ins by reviewing company data and worked files to ensure high-quality performance.
  • Call Evaluation: Regularly listen to and evaluate recorded sales calls and live interactions to identify best practices and areas for improvement in scripting and objection handling.
  • Organizational Feedback: Attend weekly meetings to provide data-driven feedback and suggestions regarding company changes and process improvements.
