About The Position

The Learning Resource Network (LRN) Manager Development Program (MDP) Training Specialist VI works under the guidance of the LRN Learning and Development Director. The Training Specialist VI performs highly advanced senior-level training. Serves as trainer for the management development training program and policy-based manager training, designed to enhance the professional development of supervisors and managers across the state. Consults and collaborates with instructional designers on learning experience. Collaborates with HHS system programs regarding management development needs. Provides guidance, consultation, and effective communication to HHS stakeholders. Determines the best evaluation techniques to ascertain the effectiveness of content or formats. Provides statistical analyses and research to evaluate the effectiveness and ensure the quality of delivery and implementation of a management development program. Exercises independent professional training judgment and expertise in assessing and developing responses to management development needs. Utilizes appropriate evaluation techniques to determine the effectiveness of the program and content. Works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • Five years’ experience in management training with a focus on developing management skills.
  • Five years of professional training experience in a large organization.
  • Three years’ experience in a management/supervisory role.
  • Three years’ experience conducting virtual training sessions.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of classroom management techniques and training tools, methods, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of HHS HR policy and large organization training policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of management training programs.
  • Knowledge of group processes, group dynamics, and interpersonal relations.
  • Knowledge of innovative training techniques and best practices.
  • Skill and experience in problem identification, analysis, and resolution.
  • Skill and experience in leading focus groups.
  • Skill and experience in effective verbal and written communication.
  • Skill in evaluating the quality and effectiveness of employee development programs and analyzing results.
  • Skill in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Skill in planning and coordination of training programs for a large organization.
  • Ability to convey complex information to learners at various learning levels using plain language.
  • Ability to interpret evaluations and apply constructive feedback to promote effective training delivery.
  • Ability to apply quality assurance standards.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to lead the work of others even without a direct reporting relationship.
  • Ability to complete high-level trainer functions in a Learning Management Systems (LMS) or other applicable systems.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers and administers virtual and hybrid statewide HHS System skills-based management development program and policy-based manager trainings; facilitates engaging training courses through simulations, labs, lectures, and other interactive activities.
  • Collaborates with instructional designers to learn management development program curriculum; utilizes modern and advanced technology to deliver and enhance the management program experience statewide through interactive simulations.
  • Researches management development skills, methods, and trends to keep programs current and effective; identifies individual and organizational management development needs through manager training needs assessments and focus groups; conducts annual review of management development and training programs.
  • Conducts pilot sessions and train-the-trainer sessions of the management development program; reviews pilot participant feedback and incorporates feedback to enhance the management development and training programs.
  • Provides statistical analyses of evaluation data of the HHS System management development program, including the development of measures and analysis of data. Compiles and submits reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Provides guidance, coaching, and mentorship to management development program participants; ensures individual action plans are completed.
