About The Position

The Agency Training Coordinator coordinates training schedules and deliveries and works with the various points of contact at host agencies. May approve travel of instructors and market training courses and technical assistance to communities throughout the state. The coordinator will rely heavily on data research tools to optimize training deliveries, improve program performance, and establish and monitor performance metrics for the various areas of the program. The coordinator will help to recruit instructors and will monitor instructor performance. This position is responsible for courses delivered under the Water Training Program. This position may also assist in the curriculum development process. This position reports to the Agency Training Manager. While TX-TF1, an elite urban search and rescue team, provides emergency response personnel and resources during disasters, TX-PWRT restores public utilities such as water, gas and electricity after disasters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two years of project management experience to include one year of experience in training adults; may include on-the-job training
  • Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
  • At least one of the following: Texas Class "B" Water license (or higher) or Texas Class "B" Wastewater license (or higher)
  • Must have a valid passport or ability to obtain within 180 days of employment
  • TCEQ Sponsor Requirements: 60 hours of classroom instructional experience OR Completion of approved Instructor training courses in: 1. Methods of Teaching OR Effective Instructional Techniques AND 2. Instructional Design and Evaluation OR Organizational and Use of Training Materials OR – the ability to attain within 6 months of employment
  • Equivalency: Associate’s degree with four years of project management experience OR a High School Diploma/GED with six years of project management experience
  • Must also meet TCEQ Sponsor Requirements and one year of experience in training adults (including on-the-job training) for equivalency options
