Friendship is looking for a Full Time Training Coordinator, RN or LPN to join our Friendship Human Resources team, located in Roanoke, VA. The Training Coordinator is responsible for creating and facilitating educational programs for staff members. The Coordinator will participate in new hire orientation as well as on-going training and in-service as required by federal and state agencies. The Training Coordinator also serves as the Occupational Health Nurse.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Unencumbered RN or LPN license in the state of Virginia required
  • BLS Certification required
  • Certified Train the Trainer for Registered Medication Aides
  • Certified to train BLS and Adult CPR, First Aid and AED

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years of experience in nursing or long-term care facility with 5-8 years of experience in education/training/occupational-employee health nurse preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develops annual education plans to encompass mandatory in-service’s, new hire orientation, and need-based programs
  • Work with Department Head’s to evaluate educational needs and design programs to meet those needs
  • Assists in the procurement of materials needed for training
  • Establishes, monitors and evaluates programs regularly to ensure relevancy, compliance and value
  • Participates in Survey audits to prepare and ensure compliance
  • Administer tuberculosis skin tests and keep current per regulations
  • Plans, implements and conducts employee vaccines for hepatitis B, flu and COVID-19
  • Stay abreast of current standards for health and safety regulations pertinent to the practice occupational medicine
  • Manage the LEIE
  • Conducts CPR, BLS, Adult First Aid and AED training
  • Assists in safety evaluation
