About The Position

The Center for Early Learning Professionals is seeking a full-time Training and Technical Assistance Associate II, reporting to the Center’s Director. The Center for Early Learning Professionals serves as the state of Rhode Island’s hub for professional development and technical assistance for the early childhood education workforce professionals and pre-licensed and licensed childcare programs including Center-base, home-base and school age/ out of school time. This position requires regular, daily in-person site visits throughout Rhode Island and occasionally in-person professional development events. While there are opportunities for this position to complete some tasks remotely, the position requires on-site presence to meet contract deliverables.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or teacher certification or equivalent combination of training and education in a related field preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field required
  • With a Master’s degree, 5 – 8 years related experience in the disciplinary area, social science, or public health research, education, training, curriculum design, consulting, organizational development, or administrative management, including solid experience with computer applications, instructional design, and internet research
  • With Bachelor’s degree, 7 – 10 years related experience (as above)
  • Prior project leadership or supervisory experience
  • Familiarity working with RI systems such as RI BrightStars Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS), RI Department of Human Services Child Care Licensing, and other child care agencies/systems as applicable
  • Demonstrated experience applying social emotional development context into research and PD development assignments
  • Multimedia technology skills
  • Ability to work independently while adhering to performance expectations
  • Ability to travel regularly to specific sites in RI
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted coaching services, program consultation and professional development (PD) in center-based licensed programs related to program administration, systems of staff support, early childhood social emotional best practices and reflective supervision
  • Conduct foundational research related to topics and appropriate citations
  • Apply knowledge on early childhood social emotional development, and health equity fields to research and PD development assignments
  • Participate in the development of training materials and resources specific to early childhood development, infant mental health, and trauma informed care, administrative practices and leadership
  • Expand contacts and strengthens client relations
  • Lead facilitation of adult learning and web-based learning
