About The Position

As part of our High Fidelity Simulation (HFS) Portfolio, we develop, install, and support Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Team Trainers for the US Navy's submarine, surface, and surveillance fleets and systems. As a Trainer Systems Build Supervisor, you'll oversee and participate in the creation of computer based training systems and their installations throughouot the Fleet. Your work won't just sit on a shelf. It'll be front and center, shaping the trajectory of naval training operations. Plus, you'll get the chance to travel to strategic locations like Pearl Harbor, San Diego, Norfolk, and future international installations, as you will be on the front line of bringing training innovations to the Fleet. Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. Government granted security clearance. Interim Secret security clearance required to begin employment.
  • Must have 8+ years of applicable work experience and be able to demonstrate the skills and capabilities to successfully execute the duties and responsibilities of this position.
  • Experience to include but not limited too:
  • US Navy Trainer Program experience
  • Training system build-out and EDM maintenance
  • Technician team supervision and scheduling
  • Installation planning, execution, and risk assessment
  • Collaboration with program and project managers
  • Process improvement and workflow optimization
  • New system build and capability development
  • Coordination with inventory and ILS teams
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision and work well under deadlines, frequently with quick turnaround. Must be proficient with desktop computing platforms (PCs) and applications (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with audio systems, experience with CAD and 3D printing, experience operating and maintaining secure IT systems.
  • Background: Experience as a Navy ET, ST or FT. Familiarity with facility power and data center power requirements.
  • Experience with Linux, Atlassian Products, AutoCAD and/or other CAD or drafting software.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the build out of all training systems produced by the HFS team. This includes training systems delivered to Fleet sites, and systems used as engineering development models (EDMs) at the Maryland development sites. Ensure that EDMs are properly physically maintained.
  • Supervise the team of technicians responsible for build outs. Schedule travel assignments in a balanced manner. Participate in installations and become fluent in all installations the program performs.
  • Coordinate with Program Managers and Technical Project Manager's for installation scheduling. Advise managers on installation effort, technical feasibility, and installation risk. Propose new workflows to improve installation quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Become the subject matter expert for any new build efforts required for new trainer capabilities.
  • Coordinate with inventory management personnel and ILS personnel to ensure BOM materials are in hand prior to installations and installation documentation is available for ILS use post-install.
  • Schedule technician team work (inventory control, EDM maintenance efforts, EDM facility maintenance, pre-install preparation) between installations.
