About The Position

As a Trailer Tech, you will be responsible for keeping our drivers safe and on the road. Trailer Techs are responsible for maintaining and servicing Carter trailers. Those services include changing brakes, troubleshooting brake systems, repairs to wheel ends, slider assembly, body, frame, electrical and any mechanical issues and/or other issues that might come up with our trailers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Pay will be based on level of experience.
  • Must be self-driven with a positive attitude and willingness to learn and work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to follow given directions to complete tasks and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Basic computer skills and abilities to operate and utilize current diagnostic tools.
  • Must have the ability to learn new programs as necessary.
  • Solid work history and quality craftsmanship.
  • Must be motivated, dependable, and able to focus while having a willingness to successfully function in a team environment.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • You will need to follow all correct and proper PPE requirements such as, but not limited to, wearing a reflective vest, shirt, or jacket, and steel toe shoes or shoe coverings.
  • You will also need to maintain any and all safety certifications and standards necessary as set by management.

Nice To Haves

  • Volvo or Detroit certifications are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintenance of fleet trailers
  • Troubleshoot and complete repairs to all aspects and systems of the trailer
  • Keep correct documentation of all parts used, type of diagnosis, and services performed in the repair order
