This is an individual contributor position reporting to the Deputy National Assistant Director, Logistics. This position plans, directs, and evaluates Disaster Cycle Services trailer fleet resourcing activities for all national level disaster operations. This role manages the Disaster Cycle Services national trailer fleet and executes the end-to-end lifecycle management and trailer dispatch process and tools. This position collaborates with the Disaster Logistics Center, Supply Management, Disaster Services Finance, and external vendors. The scope of this role is an individual contributor and acknowledged expert both within the organization as well as within other organizations. Typically participates in industry/knowledge reference groups. Involves mastery of a specialized discipline and thorough understanding of a number of disciplines. May also require development of new solutions for complex projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of program or service.
  • Demonstrated ability in creating presentations and developing training modules.
  • Excellent oral and communication skills, including training and presentations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Develop project plans, budgets and strategies to achieve organizational goals.
  • Demonstrate analytical and decision-making skills to develop creative processes for continuous program or service improvements.
  • Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to work on a team.
  • Travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Direct disaster cycle services trailer fleet resourcing activities for all national level disaster operations.
  • Responsible for the planning, execution and evaluation of all disaster trailer fleet operations resourcing activities for national level response operations.
  • Ensure integration of disaster trailer fleet operations within the concept of support for all national disaster operations.
  • Manage the disaster cycle services trailer fleet and execute the end-to-end lifecycle management and trailer dispatch process and tools.
  • Support disaster relief operations in the utilization of the disaster trailer fleet.
  • Coordinate and direct external movement carriers in the execution of carrier load assignments, trailer dispatch, and trailer readiness and repair.
  • Analyze data, identify areas of need and/or improvement, and develop recommendations for disaster trailer fleet operations program improvement.
  • Develop reports on project status and issues for management review.
  • Oversee all trailer operations processes.
  • Analyze operating practices and recommend revisions to improve established procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Disaster Logistics Center, Supply Management, Disaster Services Finance, external vendors, and the Disaster Cycle Services National Command & General Staff in the development of program strategies and initiatives as required.
  • In collaboration with the Operations Cadre Manager, provide support, development, and leadership guidance to Logistics responders.
