WSDOT is seeking a Transportation Engineer 2 in Spokane, WA to support Traffic Safety and Operations across the region. This role improves highway safety and reliability by conducting operational reviews (signing, striping, speeds, crosswalks, and work zones) and analyzing crash history using Safety Analyst and the Highway Safety Manual. Findings are used to implement Minor Operational Enhancements or recommend larger safety projects. The position also investigates traffic-related inquiries from the public and local agencies, ensures regional signs and markings comply with the MUTCD and WSDOT policies, supports the Motorist Information Sign program, contributes to Highway Advertising Control Act activities, and assists with managing the region's sign inventory.
