From corridor studies to Safe Routes to School, you’ll use tools like Synchro, Highway Capacity Software, MicroStation, and/or AutoCAD to turn ideas into action. You’ll contribute to projects across the region and beyond, helping shape safer, more sustainable multimodal infrastructure in diverse contexts as part of a collaborative team that’s passionate about the work we do and the communities we serve. Requirements

  • Licensed PE with 10+ years of experience developing traffic engineering design plans, operational and safety analyses, and/or design documents (signing and pavement marking, maintenance of traffic, traffic signals)
  • 2+ years project or design management, experience with public agencies a plus (MDOT SHA, VDOT, DDOT, PennDOT)
  • Experience developing conceptual designs for intersections and corridors
  • Proficient in one or more of the following: MicroStation OpenRoads, Synchro, Highway Capacity Software, MicroStation InRoads, AutoCAD, SIDRA, and/or VISSIM
  • Experience developing conceptual designs for intersections and corridors
  • Understanding of basic geometric design principles of roadways and industry roadway design standards
  • Understanding of MUTCD standards at the state and federal level
  • Experience developing construction documents and cost estimates
  • An interest in managing and mentoring staff
  • Strong interest in active transportation design and analysis
