Employees in this job participate in a variety of activities designed to enhance highway safety and user efficiency through traffic control, signing, and marking situations. Disseminate basic traffic related information to the general public and other government agencies Document activities Deploy and remove Temporary Work Zone Traffic Zones for construction projects and emergencies as directed Program, deploy, and retrieve speed monitors as directed Program, deploy, and retrieve variable message boards as directed Deploy and retrieve automatic traffic counter equipment as directed Assist with turning movements recording as directed Install new and refurbish existing pavement markings as directed (includes loading and handling of bulk materials) Install and maintain permanent traffic control signage as directed Assists with sight distance measurement and maintenance as directed Performs basic traffic signal maintenance (housekeeping) Performs inventory tracking and assists with procurement procedures Oral and written communications must be clear and effective. Performs other related duties as assigned
