Supervises others when performing necessary tasks involved with signal installations, programming, timing updates and maintenance. Mentors employees under direct supervision and provides guidance to others when programming or troubleshooting. Programs all controllers for new installations, rebuilds, and upgrades. Performs cabinet wiring and test all cabinets to be installed at new signal location, as well as, locations rewiring updates or repairs. Writes logic programs for special functions that are unique to an intersection and are not included in the program options provided by the controller manufacturer. Interprets signal plans, schematics, timing sheets, and pre-emption charts to ensure signal timings and settings are programmed as intended and verifies that signals will function as intended. Assists with the management of District Three's many coordinated and adaptive signal systems by completing and supervising the completion of the work orders associated with general timing adjustments, updates to time-of-day plans, and adaptive signal system (SynchroGreen) parameter adjustments, all to improve signal operations and reduce motorist delays. Utilizes industry specific programs to perform these tasks. Maintains ATMS (Advanced Traffic Management Systems), the current signal timing and setting database. Performs other related duties as assigned.
