AECOM is actively seeking a creative, self-driven, motivated-to-learn Traffic/Safety Engineering Intern for employment in the Atlanta, GA office. Imagine working on rewarding traffic/safety engineering projects within a diverse culture. You’ll receive exceptional training and mentoring from our dynamic team of transportation engineering professionals. Working with project managers and lead engineers, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Assist Traffic Safety and Traffic Operations professionals as needed. Research and analyze vehicular and vulnerable road user (pedestrian, bicyclist, personal conveyance device user, or worker in a work zone) crash data. Provide analysis to support development of design or operational ideas and solutions. Develop an awareness of standard engineering practices, techniques, and procedures. Research alternate solutions and design options in support of the project team, e.g. white paper research. Assist in preparation of studies, conceptual designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and working drawings. Communicate and collaborate in a team environment and adapt to dynamic project needs.
