About The Position

Quality Staffing, Inc., also doing business as Goddard Mason Executive Search, a leading full-service employment agency matching qualified talent with some of the area's top companies, is looking for an experienced Transportation Technician (level 3)/Traffic Management Coordinator to work through our agency as a contract employee with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TN DOT) located in Nashville, TN. This is an on-site position working the 2nd shift on Tuesday from 1:30 pm until 10:30 pm and on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 1:00 pm until 10:30 pm. The pay rate for this position is $21.50 per hour. Traffic Management Coordinator Job Description: An advanced technician position working indoors and on-site in a control room environment to monitor roadways and ensure the safe and efficient movement of traffic. This position will be tasked with managing scheduled and unscheduled traffic incidents and dispatching responders accordingly by utilizing Intelligent Transportation Systems devices. The initial contract will be for 6 months but is subject to extension upon good performance.

Requirements

  • Customer service experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience contributing within a team environment.
  • Solid communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Operational knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Dispatch or call center experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performing functions with minimal supervision and following established procedures.
  • Identifying more complex issues and deferring those to a supervisor.
  • Operating various computer-based traffic management systems to manage traffic and incidents on roadways and improve traffic conditions.
  • Monitoring roadways via traffic surveillance cameras and detection systems.
  • Monitoring all traffic devices and computer equipment associated with the system.
  • Maintaining advanced knowledge on the operation of all traffic equipment, computers and software associated with the traffic systems.
  • Becoming familiar with the roadways and understanding the purpose and location of traffic devices.
  • Communicating with multiple agencies to coordinate resources for incidents which may affect regional travel.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
