About The Position

The Traffic & Logistics Analyst is responsible for all aspects of the daily flatbed schedule and logistical activities with the primary focus on American Flow Control (AFC) hydrant and valve products. This role will often handle unexpected change inquiries in regard to load times, delivery times, load capacities and timely communication to customer service, manufacturing, production planning to ensure on-time and satisfactory shipments. This role provides backup support to others in the department. This is an onsite position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience in supply chain or manufacturing.
  • 5+ years relevant experience, preferably in traffic & logistics, supply chain or manufacturing.
  • Experience in traffic management system preferred.
  • Understanding of ERP systems, ASI and JDE preferred.
  • Experience in Internet research, map reading, and calculation skills required.
  • High attention to detail along with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to frequently visit shop floor in a safely manner on daily basis required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate AFC schedules for truckload orders for outbound freight and inbound returns in advance, including flatbeds throughout the entire process from quote stage to final delivery.
  • Adjust truck loads to accommodate unexpected customer service requests that result in load re-calculations and consolidations.
  • Communicate timely, clearly, and precisely with truck carriers and internal CSRs of any unexpected or unforeseen events relating to the shipment and document communication to preserve and relay information to customers.
  • Correspond and verify with the shop and production team any order changes or adjustments as requested by CSRs to meet the customer’s needs.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the different forms of payment options such as bank assignments, sight drafts, time drafts and coordinate with accounting, sales and the customer.
  • Organize and maintain all job site drop ship orders for AFC flatbeds.
  • Responsible for all AFC 3rd Party Logistics Providers’ (3PL) shipments and all Core and Main WLCL customers to arrange pick-ups.
  • Solicit bids from carriers and prepare domestic and international AFC freight quotes.
  • Update order address changes/reprint pick-tickets.
  • Maintain and keep flatbed rate sheet and carrier contact information updated at all times.
  • Stay current and informed on all government regulations including policies and procedures for shipping, handling and packaging of HAZMAT materials.
  • Ensure compliance with all government regulations, including the Code of Federal Regulations Title 49, Denied Parties and Embargoed Country lists.
  • Maintain the “Country of Origin” database and provide “Certificates of Origin” while staying abreast of new trade agreements and their rules of origin.
  • Maintain training on international policies utilizing various online resources.
  • Prepare international and domestic proforma invoices for accounting, sales and service.
  • Review and verify international billing with quoted or published UPS rates.
  • Review and validate all international purchase orders for accuracy in ASI while adhering to export compliance.
  • Prepare export document sets for international AFC orders.
