Traffic Engineering Intern - Transportation (Summer 2026)

This hands-on experience will equip you with practical skills, build your network, and provide opportunities that set you up for success. Your Opportunity Stantec is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to assist our growing traffic, roadway lighting, and ITS groups. Candidates should be technical thinkers with beginner level experience with design/construction. Must be able to work collaboratively with a team of engineers and designers at all levels to deliver quality plans to clients. Position will be based out of our Nashville office.

Requirements

Experience with AutoCAD or Microstation software preferred
Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Understanding of data governance and data management
Detail oriented and organized
Ability to work independently and in a group
Ability to multitask and work effectively at a fast pace
Willingness to learn new skills and interface collaboratively with a large and experienced team across all levels and disciplines
Self-motivated
College class work in Civil Engineering and current status as Engineering student working towards a bachelor’s degree.
Typical office environment working with computers and a dynamic group of engineers.
Field work may be required, and appropriate training and safety equipment will be provided.
