About The Position

GAI Consultants, Inc is seeking a Traffic Project Engineer 2 to work out of our Cranberry Township, Homestead, or Southpointe, PA offices within our Transportation Business Unit. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment. The candidate must be a team player who excels in collaborative environments and has the ability to independently lead traffic tasks with complex features by work performed directly or through supervision of others. Shall be familiar with PennDOT, PA Turnpike, and MUTCD design requirements. Allegheny County and City of Pittsburgh experience a plus. Responsibilities include: Leading the production and checking of technical traffic reports, design plans, design calculations, specifications, and cost opinions. Primary tasks will include traffic modeling and analysis (Highway Capacity Software, Synchro/SimTraffic, etc.), traffic signal design, signing and pavement marking design; and traffic control (Maintenance and Protection of Traffic) design. May serve as a Task Manager on small projects. Qualifications Bachelors or better in Engineering. Experience 12+ years. PTOE desired. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Possesses exceptional oral and written communication skills. MicroStation computer-aided design skills required, OpenRoads Designer experience a plus. General Characteristics Applies thorough knowledge of current principles and practices of engineering related to the variety of aspects affecting their organization. Applies progressively acquired expertise to resolve crucial issues and/or unique conditions. Keeps informed of new methods and developments affecting their practice and recommends new practices or changes in emphasis of projects. Leads projects of moderate complexity and scope or leads a major project. Analyzes complex problems across specialty areas appropriate to the practice of engineering. Analyzes ethical dilemmas to determine appropriate courses of action.

Requirements

• Bachelors or better in Engineering.
• 12+ years experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Possesses exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• MicroStation computer-aided design skills required
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) License, reciprocity in multiple states.
• Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

• PTOE desired.
• OpenRoads Designer experience a plus.
• Allegheny County and City of Pittsburgh experience a plus.
