About The Position

Under daily input from Management to handle shipment activities including but not limited to; coordination with brokers, cross-dockers, over-the-road, intermodal, boxcar and overseas carriers, providing high level customer service, and support to Distribution and Supply Chain Management. Requirements

  • High School Diploma required, AA or Logistician preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Traffic Customer Service with above average job performances or previous logistics and transportation experience and inventory control.
  • Ability to accurately enter data
  • Previous experience with SAP systems or equivalent with experience in Sales and Distribution, Outlook, Microsoft Teams and Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Excellent and accurate organizational and follow-up skills
  • Ability to multitask in handling multiple tasks at one time
  • Ability to interact effectively with team members and channel communication and activities between truck drivers and warehouse operations

Responsibilities

  • Notify and schedule appointments with carriers to pick up orders to insure timely delivery
  • Analyze shipments to maximize shipping efficiency
  • Maintain communication with broker carriers for equipment availability
  • Provide high level customer service with distributors and various departments internally and externally (Supply Chain, Customer Service, Distribution and Production) in order to add high value to TFE customers.
  • Update and maintain domestic and Export broker carrier contact information
  • Relieve/backup Traffic Customer Service personnel (check-in/out) as necessary
  • Responsible for understanding the Food Safety and Quality Management System and related activities.
  • Handle requests and inquiries from sales staff and distributors
  • Work with TFE 3rd party partners to procure freight for transfers among customers
  • Participate (if needed) in annual Physical inventory as directed by the Distribution Manager
  • Generate miscellaneous reports as required
  • Assist with other Traffic Department activities such as: Safety committee meetings, town halls, and operation meetings.
