About The Position

The Coordinator works with various departments and individuals in the organization to ensure materials and resources flow through the company in a timely manner. The focus is to drive the efficiency of truck driver flow in the warehouse yard. This includes directing truck drivers to staging lanes, getting trucks to dock doors and checking drivers in for shipping and receiving to name a few. The Traffic Coordinator must have good planning, customers service and problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate problems and develop a plan of action to prevent delays in the organization's workflow. Additionally, at times, the Coordinator may work in a fast paced and stressful situation when warehouse activity is high.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years Customer Service experience
  • Experienced with basic computer skills to include proficiency with Microsoft applications

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with high volume scheduling
  • Working knowledge of basic DOT and HazMat regulations
  • Knowledge of BOLs and driver load documentation

Responsibilities

  • Work in conjunction with the Customer Service department to schedule the delivery or pickup of customer products
  • Monitor the flow of materials or resources through the process to ensure on time delivery and pickup
  • Troubleshoot problems to make sure a project or process remains on schedule
  • Influence schedules in various departments to ensure work is completed on time
  • Monitor and confirm that a work process is progressing on schedule
  • Monitor communication and work between departments
  • Ensure the efficiency of warehouse dock door utilization
  • Drive the flow of inventory as quickly and efficiently as possible in and out of the warehouse yard
  • Ensure that loads get the proper seals or placards
  • Verify driver loads and paperwork to ensure accuracy of shipping before product leaves the warehouse
  • Check-in driver loads
  • Receive and account for driver paperwork
  • Input load information into company database
  • Provide exceptional customer service when dealing with outside personnel and internal colleagues
  • Maintain required documentation to ensure accurate, BOL’s, Receipts and other Customer expectations
  • Assist in completing all stage of services within the WMS
  • Maintain databases (WMS, Excel, etc.) of daily activity
  • Type information accurately into the computer system
  • Ensure that drivers receive accurate paperwork and provide United required paperwork
  • Help in resolving inventory problems
  • Answer and communicate clearly and effectively
  • Exercise patients and empathy when interacting with different guest personality types
  • Other duties may be assigned
