About The Position

The Traffic Coordinator will assist the Traffic Manager in all aspects of the shipping and receiving process at American Heavy Plate.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3-5 years of experience as a traffic coordinator or similar position
• ERP and Traffic Management Software experience
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Climb ladders
• Work on your feet for the majority of the day in a large facility
• Operate cranes and forklifts
• Availability to work weekends
• Strong Excel skills preferred
• Strong communication skills preferred
• Strong organizational skills and a problem-solving attitude

Nice To Haves

• Associates degree in a related field of study preferred
• Experience working with 3PL and other outsourced freight providers preferred
• Customs and Import/Export preferred

Responsibilities

• Receiving of all Purchased Goods
• Measure ingots and steel slabs upon arrival
• Enter material receipt into our ERP system
• Coordinate with 3PL to schedule trucks
• Label arriving material with our company tags
• Enter freight rates and compare to expected amounts
• Outbound Truck Shipping
• Monitor schedule for upcoming material readiness
• Schedule trucks with 3PL
• Confirm ship readiness with Operations
• Confirm test reports with quality as needed
• Resolve freight rate discrepancies
• Work with Operations to schedule shipments outside of standard hours
• Prepare customs paperwork
• Outbound Rail Shipping
• Order rail cars 7-10 days in advance of shipment
• Outside Processing
• Transport freight to and from outside processors
• Administrative
• Scan documents in a timely manner
